Education
Elementary School
-
Xander has known Willow Rosenberg (or some form of her) since at least kindergarten, possibly earlier. The math ("Twelve years of you and I'm snappin' " The Dark Age, Xander's junior year of high school) says that he's also known Cordelia Chase for that long.
Sunnydale High School
-
It's built over a portal to Hell, or some hellish dimension. It's been haunted, earthquaked, vampire-invaded, Bezoar-infested and bewitched, attacked by hellhounds, flying monkeys, and a cafeteria lady with a box of rat poison. Xander attended nearly a full four years there, and was briefly on the Swim Team during his Junior year. Sunnydale's mayor, Richard Wilkins, who had secretly been controlling the town in some fashion for over a hundred years, planned to use Sunnydale High's 1999 graduation ceremony to ascend to a demonic form, chowing down on the assembled kids in his brand new giant snake body as soon as he did.
Where Canon and Xander go separate ways
A few (handwavily vague) days before graduation, the Buffy Summers from Xander's timeline (who had a little more advance notice of what exactly the Mayor would turn into than canon Buffy did) decided that the possible loss of students from fighting the demon themselves would be too great. She went to the Watchers' Council (who she'd previously told to take a flying leap) asking for help.
In exchange for Buffy coming back at least somewhat under their control, the Council arranged to pull all of the Sunnydale High students out of town, and send them off to different schools -- some in other dimensions -- to avoid any sort of vengeance by the Mayor or his minions. The students were plucked straight out of the end of their current year and shunted forward in time to the beginning of the school year for wherever they'd been sent, which could only help with the Mayor's people not being able to locate them.
The Willow from his dimension went to Hogwarts, where she didn't so much re-take senior year as get extra magical education, and corresponded regularly with Xander while he attended Fandom High. Buffy was at first sent to Pine Valley, PA, then when the Council realized that the Mayor-Snake was still wandering around terrorizing the town of Sunnydale, she was recalled there. Various other students who actually died in canon (Harmony Kendall, Larry Blaisdell) survived, in FH!Xander's timeline, and were sent to still other schools.
Xander ended up at Fandom High.

Living Arrangements
Room 406
Xander's first roommate was Angelus, assigned against both their wills to room together in Room 406 by Principal Sarah Connor. During a scavenger hunt for Music 101, Xander acquired Jeremiah, a standard wee green Fandom Island frog who later turned purple due to a mis-calibrated portal spell. After Angelus was re-ensouled and became Angel again in October 2005, he moved out of 406 and Xander had a single until the beginning of Spring semester 2006, when Isabel Evans was assigned to room with him.
Room 121
After Xander graduated in May of 2006, he (and Jeremiah) moved down to the single graduate/teacher/instructor quarters on the first floor.
Flamingo Cabin
During summer 2006, Xander lived in the A-side of Flamingo, the graduate cabin, sharing it with Callisto and Anakin Skywalker; the B-side ws occupied by Chloe Sullivan, Piper Halliwell and Veronica Mars.
Relationships
Fall 2005
Xander took Veruca Cally to Homecoming 2005 as friends, but didn't actually date anyone throughout the fall semester. In addition to old friend (from another timeline) Buffy Summers, he got to know Alex Krycek, D'anna Biers and Logan Echolls by working together with them on a Journalism project, and later helped Logan after he and then-girlfriend Rory Gilmore were attacked by Xander's roommate Angelus. Xander was quizzed about Angelus' history by Martin Blank, Angela Chase, and M. Parker at various times, which later culminated in getting to know them better through Investigator's Club.
Spring 2006
In addition to meeting new roommate Isabel Evans, Xander was helped out of a closet by Lee Adama, deeply admired the ahem hat of Benton Fraser, held hands with John Crichton in Shop, and discussed ferret-sex with Jake Gavin Jr. Despite these subtexty-but-mostly-non-euphemistic interactions with guys, Xander's confession in song about the nature of his hat-admiration, and a drunkenly-misdirected e-mail to Parker revealing that having to kiss other guys in a Spin The Bottle game had been awful mostly because he was trying so hard not to like it, he didn't actually do anything about the situation until March 2006. At which point he kissed Bridge Carson under duress, enjoyed it greatly, then said "Crap" and walked out of the room. As you do.
So of course a month later, they actually had their first date.
Summer 2006
Xander met the FH version of Willow Rosenberg after he graduated. While she seemed to have come from a time when both she and her home-version of Xander would have been 16, in reality, this Willow had left Sunnydale during her first semester of college, so she and Fandom High's Xander were more or less the same age. At first, Xander was unware that she'd been made 16 again by a spell, but certain things she knew didn't add up if she was as young as she claimed, and eventually she took him into her confidence.
He also met Dawn Summers for the first time, before she was inserted into the memories of everyone in his own world; he only knew her as 'Buffy's sister from some weird timeline where Buffy actually has a sister.' Since Xander was in Fandom when his version of Dawn was created, he wasn't there for the spell that would have made him remember her as always having existed; he only discovered what happened when he called home shortly before going back for college, then got a partial explanation from FH's Dawn.
When Xander left the island in early September to return to Sunnydale for college, he was expecting to see Bridge Carson again by Homecoming, so that relationship didn't exactly break up, even though Bridge in fact knew it would be longer (and thought it would be much longer). It was left at "We'll see what happens."

Missing Years (Away from Fandom)
Sunnydale
Xander gained enough confidence in his own abilities that with a lot bit of poking from his friends, he was willing to try going to UC Sunnydale with Willow and Buffy, though he wasn't keen on leaving Fandom or the aforementioned relationship. He went home to a snake-free Sunnydale in the fall of 2000, fully intending to stay in touch and return to Fandom-in-2006 for Homecoming, holidays, etc. The time-space vortex: "Ahahaha notsomuch." It cut off all access to Fandom and any dimension that might be able to get to Fandom.
He spent the next six+ years out of contact and living through a somewhat AU version of BtVS seasons 5 through 7. Many things happened more or less as they did in canon, but some events and relationships were affected by the original evacuation of Sunnydale High and by things Xander experienced in Fandom. The most significant personal changes for Xander are that he did go to college (though UC Sunnydale went byebye before he finished) and that instead of his canon relationship with Anya, he developed a...something... with Faith over the summer that Buffy was dead, and lived with her until she was killed in that universe's version of Chosen.
Post-Chosen
Most of the supernatural parts of BtVS canon played out as scripted, leaving Xander sans an eye and working for a rebuilt Watchers' Council in a world where Sunnydale is now a giant sinkhole and there are more Slayers in the world than you can shake a pointy stake at. He alternated between picking up new ones and doing clean-up/repair after a Slayer had been through someplace and the fight caused building-damage. He was alone, sadder but not precisely unhappy, and generally restless. He didn't take long-term assignments in one place, or with one Slayer.
Return to Fandom
In January of 2007, Xander's timeline synched up with Fandom's again. He discovered this completely by accident, when the place where he was supposed to pick up a new Slayer turned out to be a lot more familiar than he was expecting. Because he couldn't have a boring return to Fandom, Xander was immediately faced with a kidnapped ex-boyfriend, a (luckily failed) suicide note> from Callisto on his voicemail, and a bunch of friends (and a purple frog) who'd barely aged since the last time he saw them.
Also, a gift apartment-complex he tries hard not to look in the mouth, and a Slayer from the future who's not planning on going anywhere anytime soon. Said Slayer (Melaka Fray) has a psychotic vampire twin who occasionally sends her nastygrams of an Angelus-worthy nature.

Relationships
Bridge Carson
After holding out for months because hi, nine year age difference and why yes that does count as jailbait in this state, the ex-boyfriend is now... not so exxy. Xander's still a little twitchy about that, but since the thing that finally flipped his switch was one reminder too many that they tend to live dangerous lives and it's just plain stupid to waste time that could disappear in a second, he's mostly relegated that twitch to the back of his mind.
