Background
Veronica spent her junior of high school at Neptune High trying to find out the truth about who murdered her best friend, Lilly Kane. Her father, Keith, was ousted from the Sheriff's office after Lilly's death because he accused Lilly's father Jake of the murder. Jake Kane invented streaming video technology and owns a multi-billion dollar company that employs a lot of people in Neptune.
Veronica dated Lilly's brother Duncan until shortly before Lilly's murder, when he inexplicably broke up with her without giving her a reason.
As a result of both of these things, Veronica spent the majority of her junior year being harrassed by the "09ers" (the rich kids), particularly Logan Echolls, who was Lilly's boyfriend at the time of her death and Duncan's best friend.
Her dad ended up starting a PI firm in town and Veronica worked there after school. She developed a reputation as the girl who could solve your problems (in a non-mob type way, of course :)).
In addition to investigating Lilly's murder and solving cases for her classmates, Veronica was attempting to find out who raped her at an end of the year party the previous year. She had woken up the morning after the party missing her underwear and with no recollection of what happened.
She ended up dating Logan briefly, but they broke up because she accused him of murder. It turned out that Logan's father had killed Lilly because they were having an affair and Lilly found sex tapes of them and was planning to take them to the tabloids. She also learned that she was drugged with GHB at the party and had consensual sex with her ex-boyfriend Duncan. He was also drugged and freaked when he woke up with her because he had broken up with her after learning there was a possibility that his father was actually her father (her mother had had an affair with Jake Kane). At the end of the season, her father had a paternity test done and she learned that she and Duncan were not related.
Beginning of season 2 flashed us back to the summer and we learned that Veronica and Logan got back together briefly, she stood by him as he stood trial when he was accused of murdering a biker and they split when his reckless ways became too much for Veronica to deal with.
Where Canon and charactername go separate ways
Wanting a safer place for his daughter to spend her senior year, Keith Mars sent Veronica to Fandom High. Veronica has gone through very little season two canon, though she did end up picking up some season three canon after her graduation.
In Fandom
It didn't take long for Veronica to learn that Fandom was quite possibly more dangerous, and definitely more interesting, than Neptune. She discovered that Lilly Kane was alive [1] and attending Fandom High. She also discovered that her ex, Logan Echolls was a student. This was both a good and bad thing for her, as she still had feelings for him, but their relationship started off rather acrimoniously.
Not long into the semester, at the behest of her new friend Marty Blank, Veronica began investigating the murder of Kitty Pryde. She ended up finding proof that Angelus was responsible for the murder and nearly got killed[2] by his minion, Belthazor. Lucky for her, Angel showed up and saved her, beginning a sometimes complicated, but still very close friendship.
That friendship nearly grew into something more, but by Christmas, despite dealing with the fallout of gremlin bites [3] and love spells [4], Angel and Veronica decided to be friends.
In January, she and Logan renewed their relationship [5] after he saved her life when Belthazor attempted to attack her again [6]. They hit a rough patch when Logan didn't tell Veronica the truth about his vampire hunting [7], but managed to stick it out and have a very special Valentine's Day [8] celebration.
Over Spring Break, she and Logan both spent a lot of time and energy on figuring out how to keep Angel alive after he contracted some weird poison [9].
Things started going down hill in April, when Veronica decided to keep an important secret from Logan about his father putting out a hit on her [10]. She made a bad decision to take matters into her own hands and asked Bel to kill Aaron Echolls [11]. And ended up being his alibi when his psychotic demon mother attacked Allison Cameron. When she finally came clean to Logan, he broke off their relationship [12], but they have managed to become good friends since then.
Shortly after the breakup, Veronica began dating Archie Kennedy. They went to prom [13] together and had their first date when they were regressed to five year olds [14].
Oh, and at some point in all of that, Veronica's roommate and BFF, Piper Halliwell got turned into a demon [15].
After graduation [16], Veronica decided to spend the summer teaching Photography on the island. Her relationship with Archie continued with them taking a trip to Neptune [17], getting hit with a truth spell [18], fighting off the ghosts of people who had tormented them [19] and spending a weekend in DC [20].
Right before Veronica's birthday, Archie found out that he was being recalled by the Royal British Navy [21]. Veronica spent her birthday weekend in Los Angeles, partying with Angel, Logan, Bel and Phoebe [22]. The following week, Piper and Cameron Mitchell conspired to throw her a surprise party [23], but the biggest surprise was that Archie came back, giving them a chance to finally tell each other how they felt [24]. Unfortunately, after their trip to Paris, they had to part ways so that Archie could safely begin a new life [25].
Veronica moved in to the dorms at Hearst College and got caught up in her new college life. But she didn't completely forget her old friends. In fact, she and Cameron had been becoming closer all summer and he made Bel shimmer him out to Neptune to bring Veronica ice cream in the wake of her split with Archie [26]. Much to both of their surprise, their friendship turned into something more. They went to Homecoming together [27] [28] and decided to give the long distance thing a shot. They rang in the New Year at the Hyperion [29] with a number of their Fandom friends.
Being Veronica, she didn't stay out of trouble long while at Hearst. She and Piper moved into an off campus apartment in January, but she found herself embroiled in an investigation that brought up a lot of old memories for her. Especially when she ended up getting drugged in a parking garage [30]. But it worked out well in the end, since she and her friends caught a rapist [31].
Cameron moved in with her and Piper after his graduation [32] and stayed until he headed off to boot camp [33]. Unfortunately, once he left, they lost all contact [34].
She had a scare in the fall when Piper got dangerously ill [35] but it all worked out in the end, even if Piper did find out some interesting truths about the way her life could turn out.
Most recently, Veronica and Piper decided to host Thanksgiving Dinner [36] for some of their family and friends. It went well, despite the food fight and some awkward revelations.
