Background
Kaylee is best known as the mechanic on board the Firefly class ship Serenity. She's very cheerful and usually tries to see the good in everyone. She loves Serenity and does not take very kindly to those who put her down.
She doesn't mind getting greasy and dirty when fixing engines, but she also likes pretty girly things like knick knacks and pink poofy dresses. She also enjoys strawberries.
Where Canon and Kaylee go separate ways
Kaylee is probably a little older in canon, though her age was never specified. Also, the events of Serenity have not occurred yet.

Kaylee lives in room 308 with Hermione Granger.
Sometimes, she lives in Three-Toed Sloth Cabin B with Marie D'Ancanto, Hermione Granger, and Willow Rosenberg (II). Lyta Alexander, Cordelia Chase, Thane Macbeth and Cindy Mackenzie II live on the otherside.
Relationships
Kaylee is sort of keeping an eye on River Tam (II) and has made a few friends already. She's also dating Joxer.
