Background
Emma comes from a family of wealthy Bostonites. Mother (Hazel), Father (Winston) and three siblings (Christian, Adrienne and Cordelia). She is the ex-White Queen of the Hellfire Club, and has taught two groups of mutant teenagers (Hellions and Generation X). She was also teaching in Genosha before the entire island was attacked by bigass robots (Sentinels) and pretty much everyone but Emma died. Emma only survived because she had developed a secondary mutantion; the power to transform herself into a flexible, diamond-like substance that provides her near-invulnerability.
Emma then joined the X-Men, more or less by accident, and has remained with them since. During this time, she began a psychic affair with Scott Summers, who is married to Jean Grey (aka Phoenix). Jean finds out about it, and is Most Displeased. Jean is later killed.
Emma Frost is a transmorph capable of accessing both a human form with telepathic abilities or an organic diamond form with enhanced strength and durability. Since her introduction, Frost has displayed the telepathic standards of broadcasting and receiving thoughts, mind control, altering perceptions and memories, astral projection, etc. She is highly skilled at creating electronic devices that amplify/block/engage psionic powers, as well as exploiting flaws in most electronic equipment.
Frost is also very adept at performing 'psychic surgery': the utilization of pin-pointed psionic energy to exert absolute control over individual brain functions such that the physical form can be manipulated (i.e., injuries healed, disabilities repaired, stimulation or retardation of growth and aging, etc). This is an unusual feat for even the most powerful of telepaths, but one that Frost is keen to utilize whenever the occasion suits her. - Powers C&P from the wiki entry on Emma Frost
Where Canon and Emma go separate ways
Emma came to Fandom High after the end of New X-Men (Morrisson run) and before any events of Astonishing X-Men. Mainly because she wanted Scott to realize that he would miss her hot body and clever mind, damnit.

Weetiny Weekend
(17-18 Feb) Emma was weetiny, pushed boys (John Crichton) over with Alianne, became BFF with Rose Tyler, played dress up with Jack Harkness, insulted everyone with red hair and talked to M. Parker, D'anna Biers, Naomi Wildman and Aeryn Sun. She also met a BAD LADY (Pam Beesly) and had brunch at Wonka's where she met Jay and Luna Lovegood.
ZOMGIHAVEAKID Weekend
Emma's daughter with Ares, Harmonia, showed up and blew stuff up in a shower of pink sparkles.
