Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure is a science fiction comedy movie (1989). It follows the time-travelling exploits of Bill S. Preston Esq. (Alex Winters) and Ted 'Theodore' Logan (Keanu Reeves) as they try to gather personages of historical significance for their final history presentation. A man from the future, Rufus, gives them a time travelling phone booth to allow them to pass their presentation so that they are not separated. Rufus reveals that Bill and Ted are destined to become the "Two Great Ones" whose rock music, performed by their band Wyld Stallyns, brings about world peace and aligns the cosmos.

Bill and Ted bring several historical figures to San Dimas, California in 1988. They are: Abraham Lincoln, Napoleon Bonaparte, Genghis Khan, Sigmund Freud, Socrates, Billy the Kid, Joan of Arc and Ludwig von Beethoven.

This movie was followed by a sequel, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (1991), a series of Bill & Ted comics and a cartoon series, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventures.
