Background
Barbossa has come to Fandom from his world twenty years before the events of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie occur, so he's only achieved the position of cabin boy on board a pirate ship.
His background is nebulous--he grew up in a foundling home before running away and joining a group of boys who hung out around the wharf. When he was tall enough to be useful, he joined up with a pirate crew and had been plundering, pillaging and telling tall tales ever since.
He doesn't know who his parents are and doesn't particularly care.
After a particularly good haul from a Spanish main, Barbossa took his share of the loot and used it to pay for tuition at Fandom High, figuring that even a pirate could do with some book learning.
A year of it, he decided, was enough, but he liked Fandom enough to stick around.
