Background
Where Canon and Alianne go separate ways
Aly came to Fandom to teach about six years after the end of her canon. During that time, the crow man she married at the end of her duology, Nawat, was killed in fighting for the Copper Isles. Their daughter, Lianna is in Tortall with Aly's family.
The major deviation from Song of the Lioness/Daughter of the Lioness canon is that Aly is the daughter of Alanna Trebond and Charlie Kawalsky instead of being the canon child of Alanna and George Cooper.

Relationships
Aly has been fairly open about Alanna Trebond as her mother. It's been joked about by her and Faithful on the radio several times. She has not, however, told anyone about the identity of her father both to protect her timeline and to allow Alanna and Charlie the freedom to develop their relationship naturally.
During Weetiny Adult weekend, Aly's five year old self called both Charlie Kawalsky and Jack Harkness 'Daddy' causing not a small amount of flailing and rancor - mainly on the part of Charlie Kawalsky. After she was an adult again, Aly told Charlie that she couldn't tell him he was her father.
Aly's developed a relationship with Josh Lyman during her months at Fandom.

Aly has a Gift of Sight which allows her to See magic or Gifts, godhood, illness, pregnancy, or lying. It also reveals the presence of poison in water or food. Her power makes it possible for her to clearly discern the tiniest of details, things invisible to the normal eye, or to see far into the distance
She also has tiny Immortal friends called darkings which are blots of blackness, quite intelligent and are able to listen and report to the darking she wears as a necklace. In canon, Aly uses them as spies and communication devices. At FH, she's used them the same way especially her favourite Darking, Trick, who she wears around her neck as a double-stranded black beaded necklace.
