Alec should have pie.

Background

The world is a post-apocalyptic Earth analogue where an electro-magnetic pulse bomb was detonated in the United States in the year 2009 and reduced the one time super power to a third-world country as electronics of all kinds were completely fried and the economy was thrown into chaos.

Quite a few years before "the Pulse", a secret government organization called "Manticore" began creating genetically manipulated/enhanced beings in an attempt to form an army of super soldiers. These super soldiers, called "transgenics", would be better suited to war and to withstanding the harsh conditions that human soldiers might find difficult to face.

The X-5 line, of which X5-494 is a member, look human, but are genetic chimera - human DNA mixed with feline. This apparently results in enhanced speed/strength/flexibility, as well as more acute senses than humans, a body temperature of 101.6 degrees F, and little need for sleep. X5 soldiers seem to be specifically trained as assassins because of their ability to move quickly and quietly, as well as their general likeness to humans (as opposed to some types of transgenics).

Where Canon and Alec go separate ways

This 494 is taken from before the series begins, beginning when he's still at the government facility (Manticore). The psy-ops observational period (due to his twin's possible genetic inclination towards psychosis and serial killing) and, nearly a year later, the reindoctrination after his first long term solo mission (due to subversive action and treason) left him outwardly disciplined, but inwardly rebellious towards Manticore and their treatment of the trangenics they created. Not to mention the tendency of Manticore to euthanize units that displayed too much independent thinking or presented disciplinary problems.

When his superiors judged him fit to return to duty, he took the opportunity to run - at first just as far as he could get, before he realized he needed to go somewhere that Manticore couldn't reach him. Some research and dissection of rumors gave him a new destination: Fandom High.

In order to give what I thought was sufficient motivation for Alec to leave Manticore on his own, I had to set several events from his past back a few years.

Relationships

Alec has slept with (at least once):

Alec had an open relationship with Jaye Tyler, during which they dated exclusively but, as per the initial arrangement, could sleep with whomever they wanted. This appears to have ended, and not particularly well, as they became more involved and expectations clashed.
